Cvijeće u oluji

Cvijeće u oluji - Laura Kinsale, Maja Opačić Wonderful, enchanting! One of the best love stories I have ever read. So intense...

***SPOILER***
Maddy (Archimedea Timms) is a difficult Quaker lady, a daughter of a mathematician and Christian Langland is the Duke of Jervaulx, also a mathematical genius. The Duke worked with Maddy's father until he survived a stroke and was found in a mental institution a year later. Maddy saved him from that wretched place because she believed that he was still there, in that body, just a little different ("He isn't mad, just maddened"). He fell in love with her and tried to persuade her to marry him but her Quaker nature had problems with becoming a wealthy worldly member of society so she continued to refuse him all along helping him get better. Since his family tried to declare him legally insane she was rushed into marriage with him to help him prevent them in their intentions and there begins the agonizing sequence of her doubts of whether she did the right thing or not. Very emotionally intense... Naturally, some bad things from his past just had to pop out in the middle of her distress and things started to go downhill from there...
Well... the ending I will not reveal but I will say it absolutely fulfilled my expectations!
